Old farm chores

When we arrive to the Mrcina Ranch, they will bid us a warm welcome and offer us a fruit brandy. As a souvenir each guest will receive a cowbell.

After the pick-me-ups the guests will start with their activities. Each activity is valued with a defined amount of points, the score of each group will give us the winner.

What will we see and do?

The horses need to be cleaned and brushed, saddled and later prepared for riding; of course our riding master will be supervising the groups.

The members of the group will be taken to the meadow, where a lot of farm work awaits for them. The grass has to be mown, the meadow racked and the hay has to be put in harrows and loaded into the special sheets.

The logs of wood and splinters have to be chopped, the trunk of a tree needs to be saw through, after all, the fireplace have to be done properly. On the end, a simple dish has to be prepared.

An indicate cow with a specific pattern have to be found and milked.

Other interesting games: archery and throwing the horseshoe to the certain spot, playing the „fran’’ – an ancient farmers game, competitions on stilts,...

If we will be thirsty during the work, we will be offered fresh spring water from Bohinj or „pear water’’.

Also lunch or dinner could be prepared on the fireplace for our guests – domestic food - „goulash’’ or any other dishes.

Addditional information

The price includes 3 to 4 hours of animation, the program with local spinners, a por-tion of larded “žganci” with sauerkraut, horseback riding on Iceland ponies, a ride with a horse-driven wagon, a home made aperitif, a cowbell as a souvenir, insurance and organization costs, reservation of the location and the VAT.

We will make sure that all our guests will be physicaly and psychicaly active and that they will attend activities, which emphasise our culture inheritance and historical knowledge.
And alot of fun, of course.
