Active program: Medieval program with knights at the Mrcina Ranch
We will take you to the small village of Studor, where the Mrcina Ranch with Iceland ponies is situated. There we will be surprised by a true knight-like reception and offered some home welded aperitifs: “borovničevec” (brandy with bilberries), “košutnik” (brandy with gentian), “jagodnik” (brandy with strawberries) or “žganje” (“schnapps” or straight brandy).
What will we see and do?
A group of knights will present their program, including an address by the head knight in the Old Slavic language, some medieval and knights’ dances, an archery tournament, a clash of fences, a dance with flags, fire vomiting – in short: a true knights’ spectacle.
After the program a medieval feast is waiting for us, consisting of roast suckling pig and roast potatoes, stuffed with cottage cheese. All the dishes will be consumed in a medieval manner – with our bare hands.
The feast being over, the guests are divided into three or four separate groups. The riding instructor will enlighten us with some facts about the Iceland ponies and horse riding.
Then the first group will go horse riding, the second group will try the skill of fencing, the third group will attend an archery tournament, and the fourth group will have knights dancing lessons. There are more other activities available for passing the time, and in trying them all, the afternoon slips by very quickly.
Towards the end, the results of the archery tournament will also be announced.
